Located within the’ Neufbourg Station Historical Site , The Victory in Mortain Museum invites you to travel back in time through an exceptional authentic collection. Discover the crucial history of the German counter-offensive (Operation Lüttich) and the courage of the Allied forces.
Through an interpretive journey of a score of immersive dioramas and more than 70 mannequins In period costume, the museum will pass on the memory of the Mortainais region during the Second World War.
Come and discover the striking daily lives of soldiers and civilians under the Occupation, the role of the local Resistance, and the intensity of the fighting that changed the course of the war.

A huge success! The Allied forces gathered at Le Neufbourg on 8 and 9 August 2026 for an unforgettable weekend of historical re-enactment. A huge thank you to all the re-enactors, volunteers and visitors.
The museum remains open! Continue to explore the history of the Mortain region through our 20 dioramas and 70 mannequins throughout the season. Stay tuned: preparations for the 2027 edition are already underway!
